ADMISSION INFORMATION

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Mash-ka-wisen IS NOT a crisis intervention phone number.  If you or a family member are in immediate crisis, please see our Related Links/Info page for assistance with finding crisis intervention in your area.

Typically, the Chemical Dependency Assessor (also called the "Referent") is the person expected to contact Mash-ka-wisen's Admission Office at 218-879-6731 (open Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm; closed on weekends and holidays) to inquire about bed availability and to relay the recommendations and/or client information required for admission to the Mash-ka-wisen Treatment Center. Please note we cannot reserve an inpatient admission for an individual until their recommendations and funding have been verified by the client's CD Assessor/Referent.

We accept the following payment methods:

• County or Reservation Consolidated Funds: This method requires a Rule 25 first through the client's county of residence, or from their reservation's chemical health department if they are living on a recognized reservation.
  
• Minnesota Health Care Plans (MHP) such as Medica; First Plan Blue, U-Care, etc.: MHPs do require an assessment to be completed and submitted to their substance abuse team for prior authorization before a client can begin treatment.
  
• Private Health Insurance: MIPRTC is a participating provider of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. PLEASE NOTE:  It is the client's responsibility to contact your insurance company to verify your Chemical Dependency Rehabilitation benefits, check any pre-authorization requirements, and be prepared to pay any co-pay amount the client is responsible for upon admission to Mash-ka-wisen.
